About Left Coast
Family-owned and operated since 2003, Left Coast Estate farms 447 acres in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley. 133 acres of hand-tended vineyards alongside 100+ acres of restored native oak savanna. Cooling breezes from the Van Duzer Corridor and ancient sedimentary soils give our wines their distinctive structure and character. Since our first vintage in 2004, Left Coast wines have consistently scored 90+ points, ranking among the top 10% in the world, with recognition from Forbes, Wine Enthusiast, and USA Today.
Solar-powered, Salmon-Safe, and LIVE Certified, we're building a legacy meant to last generations.
White Pinot Noir
Left Coast is a pioneer in White Pinot with our first vintage in 2011. Over the past decade, we have honed our craft to deliver an approachable, unexpected, and iconic white wine. Derived from all-Estate Pinot Noir, our White Pinot has body and complexity—a white wine for red wine drinkers. Crisp and clean on the palate, it is the perfect compliment to summer evenings.
Truffle Hill Chardonnay
We believe in crafting chardonnays that age gracefully. The key to achieving this is balance. Finding the soft spot between oak influence and the beautiful unique varietal character of Chardonnay. Benefiting from our cool growing climate, this Chardonnay is a crisp, citrus-tinged white wine with zinging acidity.
Aged entirely in French oak, we are very careful to limit the impact of the wood so as not to overpower the wine. We do this be using larger sized puncheon barrels that are double the standard size and allow for less surface area of the barrel to have contact with the wine. We also use primarily neutral oak barrels which have been used in prior vintages and no longer provide a strong oaky impact on the wine. Our Chardonnay undergoes full malolactic fermentation, allowing the acids to evolve and balance the wine. Sited on one of our highest elevations, Truffle Hill is named after the hazelnut trees inoculated with truffle fungi that share the hillside.
The Orchard Pinot Gris
Our Pinot Gris takes its name and stone fruit characteristics from a remnant orchard on the property, planted by Oregon Trail settlers in the 1860s. While the trees planted by those early pioneers have long since vanished, the essence of the orchard in captured in our Pinot Gris today.
The 100% stainless steel wine evolves in the cellar, with a lush, creamy palate driven by a long, slow malolactic fermentation over the lees. The wine is characterized by bold bright notes laced with citrus. We are proud to present our Pinot Gris that brings surprising complexity for the varietal creating a versatile white wine that is delicious on its own, but can also be paired with an array of savory menu items.
